The Wine Industry is lacking in diverse representation. Whether you are a consumer looking to educate yourself more or an industry professional seeking work, here are resources you can use if want to connect with some true change-makers:
Black Wine Professionals: "Founded by Julia Coney, Black Wine Professionals is a resource for wine industry employers and gatekeepers, professionals, and the food and beverage community. Our goal is to lift up the multifaceted Black professionals in the world of wine."
Let's change the face of this industry together. "We have no excuse for finding a qualified Black Wine Professional." To see the list of their Professionals click here.
Wonder Women of Wine: (WWOW) is a non-profit organization that advocates gender equality in the wine industry. They empower women to adopt leadership roles in all facets of the wine industry, and advocate men to be equal voices for, and activators of, gender equality in wine in both professional and social settings. We foster mentorship between men and women alike in order to change the status quo.
Women represent 60% of wine buyers in the United States.
Women make up half the workforce, but account for only 5% of chief executives at the largest companies.
A.L.L.I.E.S. Webinar series is a chance to connect with (WWOW) and their featured guest of the week. (WWOW) will give 100% of proceeds from each webinar to the respective speaker who can keep it or donate 50% to a non-profit of their choice.
