Serbian and Lebanese. Smooth, earthy reds. Also Idaho...Snake river Valley is shared with Oregon, so it's damn good quality. Split Rail Winery in Boise is my favorite.....Anyone else thirsty?
Portugal (duh!) Yup, I am biased because I live in Portugal and these wines never cease to amaze me! They run the gamut from light bodied, put a straw in it, reds, whites and roses, to big age worthy wines from all parts of the country.
Since it is summer, it's rose all day season and Pacheca Reserve Rose is one of my favorites. Quinta da Pacheca is a Douro Valley winery about an hour and a half away from the city of Porto and their wines are outstanding.
Their reserve rose is savory and herbaceous and goes well with almost any kind of food. (I especially like it with salmon.) What makes it special is that it is made from 100% Touriga Naicional, the signature grape of Portugal. It gives the wine its savory quality and complexity.
